| Golem and Gandalf greet us at Wellington airport- "The middle of Middle Earth" |
The lovely waterfront and harbor- home to ships new and old (the new being some Russian Oligarchs mega-yacht that was hanging out after receiving a 25 million paint job in Auckland)
| A trip across the harbor to Day's bay on one of the last days of summer |
| At the top of the Wellington cable car overlooking the city and Harbor |
| From one coffee capitol to another- p.s. Seattle- Wellington wins |
| The waterfront encourages with more than just scenery on Chris' run |
(With Caila) At the cake tin to support our local Hurricanes-
they missed the Super Rugby playoffs by 1 point (hence Chris' expression) |
Caught in Wellington's "Listening and viewing device"-
one way to determine which direction Wellington's famous winds are blowing |
The Skybox- our apartment has a name (in neon!)
and a guest room (so come visit)...
| Our stuff!!! It only took 4 months... but when it arrived it was Christmas in June |
A trip to the Wellington zoo- notable for the signs (and the tails)!
We love the quirky artistic sensibility of the city (in part exemplified by the ubiquitous street art)
But we haven't been won over by the popular fashions (tunic shirts and drop crotch pants?)

| The tag in those pants, by short term comfort they mean "the ability to walk"... |
Goodbye for now from Quake city (yes it lies directly on the fault line between the Indo-Australian and Pacific plates... and yes they like to remind us of the ever-present risk...)
